Chuang discusses contraceptives and Affordable Care Act at 2017 Spring Dean’s Lecture
Cynthia H. Chuang, MD, MSc, professor of medicine and public health sciences at Penn State College of Medicine, discussed contraceptive use before, during and after the Affordable Care Act during the 2017 Spring Dean's Lecture held May 9, 2017, in the College’s Junker Auditorium.
Dr. Chuang, also chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine, is a general internist, primary care provider, and health services researcher with a principal research interest in unintended pregnancy and contraceptive decision–making in adult women.
Dr. Chuang completed her medical degree at NYU School of Medicine, internal medicine residency and chief residency at Temple University Hospital, and general internal medicine fellowship and preventive medicine residency at Boston University School of Medicine. She received a master of science in epidemiology from Boston University School of Public Health, and has been a faculty member at Penn State College of Medicine since 2004.
She is Principal Investigator of a PCORI contract to study reproductive life planning and contraceptive action planning interventions in adult women (CD–1304–6117) and the Penn State site principal investigator for the PCORNet PaTH Clinical Data Research Network.
