Spring Employee Meetings highlight strategy behind health system growth

The Spring 2019 Employee Meetings wrapped up on April 26, but for those who were not able to attend one in person or virtually, a video of the April 15 meeting is now available through Zoom and MediaSite. This video is viewable across the health system and from both clinical and nonclinical workstations.
Executive leaders led 12 different sessions in Hershey, Reading, Lancaster and State College from April 2 through April 26. They discussed topics ranging from the strategy behind Penn State Health’s rapid expansion to location issues, such as parking improvements on the Hershey campus, the number of referrals to the Lime Spring Outpatient Center and the expansion of St. Joseph Medical Group services.
They also talked about why the roles of dean of Penn State College of Medicine and CEO of Penn State Health will be separated among two individuals following the retirement of Dr. Craig Hillemeier this summer and how the medical school and health system will ensure collaboration in the future. In addition, they answered employees’ questions. Thank you to all employees who contributed 13 meeting topic suggestions and helped shape the presentations.
Who Attended?
Nearly 1,000 Penn State Health and College of Medicine employees attended the meetings in person, and 319 attended via Zoom and Mediasite videoconferencing. This marked the first time that videoconferencing was made available for employee meetings, allowing staff members who aren’t able to get away from their work areas to attend virtually, either by themselves or with a team.
