Student, faculty creative writing published by AAMC
Two students and one faculty member from Penn State College of Medicine’s University Park Curriculum submitted creative writings to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). These creative works were published on the AAMC website with the goal of honoring the medical community, providing an outlet for creative and expressive thought and continuing to integrate the arts and humanities in medicine.
The initiative is the result of a partnership with StoryCorps and the National Endowment for the Arts. The AAMC is collecting oral and written stories and poetry from health care professionals on their experiences with the COVID-19 pandemic and racism and persistent inequities in America.
Read the stories submitted by faculty and students:
- Into the Unknown by Estelle Vu, medical student
- Fractured by Lauren Pomerantz, medical student
- The Storm by Dr. Michael Flanagan, professor of family and community medicine and humanities
