Terry Wolpaw, Dan Wolpaw retire Dec. 31 from College of Medicine

Dr. Terry Wolpaw, vice dean for Educational Affairs, and Dr. Dan Wolpaw, professor of Medicine and Humanities, will retire from Penn State College of Medicine on Friday, Dec. 31.
During Terry Wolpaw’s eight years with the College of Medicine, she and her medical education team received two American Medical Association (AMA) education grants totaling $3 million, an accomplishment achieved by only a handful of medical schools in the country.
The AMA grants have allowed Terry Wolpaw and her team to better prepare students and residents to practice medicine amid the complexities of ever-evolving health systems.
Dan Wolpaw was the chief architect for the University Park curriculum in State College, served as director of the Kienle Center, co-directed the Junior Faculty Development Program and helped to develop the Systems Navigation Curriculum. He was honored by the Association of American Medical Colleges in 2020 as a winner of the 2020 Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award. The award recognizes outstanding contributions by teachers to medical education.
A search for a new vice dean for Educational Affairs will begin immediately.
