The countdown is on!

In just 30 days, Penn State Health will mark a historic milestone as it opens the health system’s first newly constructed hospital, Hampden Medical Center. Located just off I-81 in Hampden Township, this 110-private-bed facility is another example of Penn State Health’s promise kept to our community to ensure that Penn State Health care is available close to home.

The long-term goal is to have everyone in the communities it serves within 30 minutes of a Penn State Health acute care hospital, 20 minutes to specialty care services, 10 minutes to primary care and 0 minutes for virtual care. That goal is shared by our partners at Highmark. The opening of Hampden on Friday, Oct. 1 will add to the health care options available to residents of Cumberland, Perry, York and surrounding counties.
