UPDATE: Tower crane removal to temporarily close Hershey campus road April 27-29

View Map  Crews working on the expansion of Penn State Health Children’s Hospital will remove a 232-foot-tall tower crane April 27 to 29.

The removal of the machinery, which was used for setting steel, delivering construction materials to the floors and setting window frames, will temporarily close South Addition Drive from 3 p.m., Saturday, April 27, until 9:30 p.m., Monday, April 29. The project initially was scheduled to begin on Friday, April 26, but was rescheduled because of the forecast of rain and high winds.

From April 27 to April 29, there will be no vehicular access to:

  • South Annex
  • South Entrance
  • Children’s Hospital Dock
  • University Physician Center Dock area

Any deliveries scheduled for these areas over the weekend must be rerouted to alternate locations.

The work won’t alter the vehicular and pedestrian traffic that uses the temporary roadway and walkway between the main entrance of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the Centerview Parking Garage.
