Turkey Trot 2021: Gobble up some fresh air at this year’s 5K

The area’s premier Thanksgiving Day road race is live again.

After a “virtual trot” in 2020, the 20th annual Carlisle Family YMCA Turkey Trot will take place outdoors on Thursday, Nov. 25 at 9 a.m. sharp. The 5K run/walk begins and ends at the Carlisle Family YMCA. View the course map.

Penn State Health is the presenting race sponsor, and Penn State Health employees can get $5 off their registration fee by using the code psustaff.

Participants of all ages are welcome and may still compete virtually if they so choose.

People can register for the race as individuals, as a team representing family and friends, or as a team representing a business or organization.

Race proceeds benefit the Carlisle Family YMCA, which provides swim lessons, sports, summer camps and childcare for area youth. Information about making a donation is here.

COVID-19 safety

Participants should follow COVID-19 prevention strategies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, such as wearing masks, physical distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette.
