United Way campaign kicks off Sept. 17
Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine’s annual United Way campaign kicks off Monday, Sept. 17 and runs through Friday, Oct. 26. The fundraising goal is $375,000 toward the United Way of the Capital Region’s overall campaign goal of $10,040,011. Employees can direct their pledges to specific nonprofit organizations or to United Way’s general campaign.
United Way supports basic needs, such as food, clothing and shelter, and has also launched innovative pilot programs in the past year to increase access to health care, prepare at-risk children for kindergarten and expand employment opportunities so that individuals can support themselves and their families.
Craig Hillemeier, dean, CEO and senior vice president for health affairs, is chair of the 2018 Live United™ campaign.
“Penn State Health’s campaign theme this year is ‘United with our Community,’” he said. “I’m proud of how our employees come together every year to support the United Way’s efforts to empower a brighter future for our communities.”
