Update: Implementation of Strata platform

Work continues for the consolidation of Penn State Health’s financial performance systems into the Strata platform. Management Reporting (MR) is the first module to go live with plans of additional module go-lives to occur throughout FY25. Several stakeholders across the health system are currently engaged throughout the development of the tool with ongoing opportunities to provide feedback to ensure it meets your needs.

Six Strata modules are being implemented:

  • Productivity Reporting (PR)
  • PR soft launch testing is in progress. Training opportunities for the module will be announced at a later date.
  • Management Reporting (MR)
  • Cost center managers were trained on the MR module in August.
  • July financial performance reports were published within the MR module in Strata on Aug. 19. Cost center managers should be reviewing these reports and entering the required commentary for July variances.
  • Contract Analytics
  • Validation of third-party payer contracts is ongoing.
  • Maintenance training will be scheduled at a later date.
  • Go-live is currently scheduled for the beginning of October.
  • Cost Accounting
  • Super user training on report building took place in June.
  • Go-live sign off was completed during the first week of August.
  • Internal cost accounting training was provided on Aug. 22.
  • Q&A sessions will be scheduled in the coming months.
  • Enterprise reporting is in development.
  • Episode Analytics (EA)
  • Two episodes are being developed based on the Blue Distinction Specialty Care guidelines for cardiac care and hip and knee replacement.
  • Administrator training is scheduled for the end of August and mid-September.
  • Go-live is currently scheduled for the end of September.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI)
  • Final assessment interviews took place the week of Aug. 19.
  • Module design and system configuration will occur in September.
  • Administrator training is planned for the end of October.
  • Go-live is scheduled for the end of November/beginning of December.
