Veterans invited to share their stories in honor of Veterans Day

Penn State Health will recognize military veterans and their service on Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, by creating a slideshow featuring employees who have served in the military.
Those who would like to participate are asked to provide the following by Monday, Nov. 1:
- A photo of themselves
- First and last name and Penn State Health department and title
- Branch of service, years of service and places stationed
- A brief description of how their military service contributes to their personal success at Penn State Health or enriches the Penn State Health organization
Veterans should email this information to the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at diversity@pennstatehealth.psu.edu. The slideshow will be shared both internally on Lion’s Eye displays and externally on Penn State Health social media channels.
Join a military/veteran business and employee resource group
The health system is expanding the number and scope of its employee resource groups, which focus on the employment needs and interests of those with military service and those who are affiliated with someone in the military, such as a spouse, partner or dependent. These groups provide input on how Penn State Health can improve work and patient care environments for those with military backgrounds, including veterans.
The health system now has military affinity groups in four regions: Dauphin, which includes all employees throughout Dauphin County, rather than the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center alone; Berks; Lancaster; and the West Shore. Veterans interested in joining one of these groups can email diversity@pennstatehealth.psu.edu.
