Wear red for women’s heart health Feb. 1
Penn State Health is encouraging its faculty, staff and volunteers to support Go Red For Women by wearing red on National Wear Red Day, Friday, Feb. 1.
The Office of Marketing and Communications will compile an online photo album of groups wearing red. Any photo submitted may be used on social media and should be horizontal in composition.
To be included in the album, submit group photos by 1 p.m. on Friday. Department names should be attached to the photo.
Cardiovascular disease kills approximately one woman every 80 seconds in the U.S. About 80 percent of cardiac events could be prevented with education and lifestyle changes. Go Red For Women, the American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative, uses the day to advocate for more research and swifter action for women’s heart health.
