Workers’ compensation vendor changes from Worknet Occupational Medicine to Concentra
Penn State Health’s preferred medical provider for workers’ compensation and pre-employment services, Worknet Occupational Medicine, will transition to Concentra in December:
- On Monday, Dec. 5, for the Berks and Lancaster regions
- On Monday, Dec. 19, for the Harrisburg, Hershey and West Shore regions
Penn State Health believes that making immediate and quality injury care services available for occupational injuries, illnesses and exposures is critical for our employees to recover and return to work as soon as medically appropriate. During the transition, all current processes will remain in place.
Concentra has expanded availability and services:
- It operates more than 500 medical centers nationwide. Find centers with the Concentra Location Finder.
- Injured or ill employees are triaged and given prompt, quality treatment upon their arrival. Concentra’s goal is to assess and treat initial new injury visits quickly.
- Concentra will be the primary provider for any substance abuse testing, physical examinations, immunizations, health and wellness programs and biological monitoring services.
- Concentra now offers free transportation for injured employees to and from their medical centers leveraging ride-sharing companies like Lyft and Uber. Learn more about how to schedule a ride and what services are available in Pennsylvania.
- Telemedicine and telerehabilitation are available through Concentra Telemed.
- Concentra also provides urgent care services for non-work-related injuries and illness to help reduce absenteeism and prevent a minor condition from escalating to a more serious and costlier medical situation.
