Audio: Pastoral Services start-of-day prayer 1
Loving God, we thank you that we can come to you in prayer. We look to you for your help. We thank you that you're at work in our lives, and that you're using us and many others to make a difference here in the hospital. Lord, we thank you for all the people who make this hospital work. And it seems that we don't think about some of them until something happens, and we're reminded what an important part they play. Lord, search us, and help us to have new eyes to see the importance of each person, and that each person in the hospital is somewhere is walking a journey themselves, that needs love, that needs encouragement at times, and that needs spiritual strength.
Especially, lift up the PT Department, with this, one of their own having a breakdown of some sort. Lord, we pray that you would help them. We think of Ecclesiastes 3, that says there's a time to break down and a time to build up. And we pray that they could be, that this person can be built up and strengthened again, and you'd help this team to rebuild and work together.
We pray for our volunteers also, who have a lot on their hearts, and also environmental health, being mentioned the last few days. God, we lift them up to you and ask for your support and strength. As we come in contact with some of these folks, to help us to make a special effort to offer care and support.
We think of Barb and lift her up, this nurse with issues that, where she needs help God, we thank you that you're here, and thank you for Darlene's ministry to her. We hold her up to you, and ask your touch upon her. For Candace, with this surgery looming, and potentially bringing healing, and yet not feeling well, we pray for your grace for her. Lord, we pray for her healing and return to her life.
For baby William, there in the NICU, and his parents, in this time of uncertainty, and with fears of a future not what they thought, God, we hold them up and ask for your comfort, your direction, your strength in this time. Thank you for Rose and Gracie and their work up there. We also think of Franklin Decker, this 22-year-old, with a brain attack, of all things. God, we pray that you would somehow turn this around. We ask for your help for him, for this family, as they cope with the possibilities. And we pray that-- we thank you for those who are touching their lives and bringing encouragement and companionship at this time.
We think of Sue, who does such a good job here, yet is carrying so much. God, we pray for her, and for her mother, Mary Alice, and her dad, and her whole family, in this time. Thank you, Lord, for how she is able to share with her own family, like she does here every day as well.
Lord, we remember these people who have, as an act of faith, written down names on the prayer list. We think of-- we think of Julie. We think of Franklin, Donna, Linda, Robert, Claudine, Judy, Shirley, Rose, each of these and others, Lord, who are on our other prayer lists around the hospital, we lift up to you.
Thank you, Lord, that you are with them. And we pray that their prayers would be answered. We pray that you give each of them the strength they need at this time. Guide us in our work today. Bless each one. We go in your name. Amen.
Amen.
