College of Medicine MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program welcomes new students
At the 2017 Penn State College of Medicine MD Program White Coat Ceremony, held July 28, 2017, at Hershey Lodge, the MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program welcomed eight new students.
The MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program is supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health, awarded to the top MD/PhD programs in the country. The program, typically completed in eight years, prepares students for a successful career in medical research, academic medicine, or a related field.
MD/PhD students can pursue graduate studies in several programs:
- Biomedical Sciences, with options in:
- Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics
- Virology and Immunology
- Translational Therapeutics
- Neuroscience
- Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Biosciences
- Engineering Sciences and Mechanics
- Physiology
