Life Lion EMS holds teddy bear clinic to mark EMS Week

To help mark National Emergency Medical Services Week (May 18-24), members of Penn State Hershey Life Lion EMS held a teddy bear clinic at Grace Christian Child Care in Hummelstown. EMTs Margie Gantz and Chelsie Weber checked teddy bears and other stuffed loved ones' height, weight, heart rate and blood pressure. Each child received a teddy bear health certificate with a diagnosis such as “weakness of seams” or “loss of stuffing” and ways to keep their bear healthy, from bed rest to plenty of tender loving care. The goal of the teddy bear clinic is to familiarize children with the inside of an ambulance and make it less scary should they ever end up needing to ride in one.
