McClure Company gift supports Penn State Health’s two newest community hospitals
McClure Company has committed $300,000 to support Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center and Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center. Conference rooms in both hospitals have been named for the company in recognition of this gift.
Headquartered in Harrisburg, McClure Company is a mechanical construction, engineering, maintenance and energy service organization, and it played a critical role in the construction of both Hampden Medical Center and Lancaster Medical Center – a total of more than 400,000 feet of piping, 40,000 pieces of ductwork, numerous HVAC air units and hundreds of thousands of labor hours. The company is also a longtime philanthropic supporter of Penn State Health.
“We are truly grateful for McClure Company’s commitment to the communities and patients we serve,” said Steve Massini, chief executive officer of Penn State Health. “McClure Company has been a great partner with Penn State over the years and has supported the University and health system in multiple ways, including recently at the 40th Annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon.”
Hampden Medical Center opened in 2021 and brings world-class health care close to home for residents of Cumberland, Perry and York counties and surrounding areas. Last month, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Penn State Health Cancer Center at Hampden Medical Center, slated to open in 2025.
Lancaster Medical Center, which opened in 2022, embodies Penn State Health’s deep commitment to transforming the delivery of health care in Lancaster and York counties. It gives residents in these growing communities expanded access to Penn State Health’s acute and specialty care services.
“We recognize the importance of accessible and high-quality health care, and it is our privilege to support Penn State Health in its mission to improve the well-being of our community,” said Dan Pietropola, vice president at McClure Company. “With this donation, we hope to empower the medical centers with the resources they need to continue delivering outstanding care to those who need it most.”
Donors like McClure Company advance the University’s historic land-grant mission to serve and lead. Through philanthropy, alumni and friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success; driving research, outreach and economic development that grow our shared strength and readiness for the future; and increasing the University’s impact for families, patients and communities across the Commonwealth and around the world.
