Anonymous donor honors Four Diamonds and THON with permanent signage at Beaver Stadium

A gift to Penn State Athletics’ Stadium Revitalization Project recognizes the mission and impact of Four Diamonds and Penn State THON
Four Diamonds and Penn State THON™, philanthropic partners in the fight to conquer childhood cancer, are proud to announce that the two organizations will now have permanent recognition in Beaver Stadium at Penn State.
Made possible by an anonymous gift to Penn State Athletics, banner signage with both of the organization’s names and logos will be installed at Gate B in the stadium home to the Nittany Lions. The gift supports the Beaver Stadium Revitalization Project, a multi-year, $700 million capital improvement project by Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics to upgrade the iconic football venue. The donor, touched by the impact and mission of Four Diamonds and THON, relinquished naming rights to honor the two organizations. This year, Four Diamonds and THON are celebrating 50 years of partnership. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $273 million for Four Diamonds to help save more than 5,500 eligible children and their families from the devastating financial burdens of childhood cancer care at Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital.
The signage is slated to be installed this week ahead of the Nittany Lions’ upcoming game against Wisconsin on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as a permanent fixture at Beaver Stadium,” said Suzanne Graney, executive director of Four Diamonds. “We are so grateful to Penn State Athletics for being a Partner in the Fight® to conquer childhood cancer. We are likewise thankful to this anonymous donor for their generosity and creativity in helping us to raise awareness about childhood cancer with our Nittany Lion fans.”
Four Diamonds is a nonprofit gift fund and the only fund of its kind in the nation dedicated to assisting children with cancer and their families with financial support, comprehensive care and innovative research. THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, made up of over 16,500 student volunteers who work year-round to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and fund life-saving research with Four Diamonds for patients at Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital.
“Penn State Athletics and THON represent two of the strongest communities within the Penn State family, bringing people together through shared experience, traditions and a commitment to something bigger than themselves,” said Lauren Mellas, the THON 2027 executive director. “Both communities have a lasting impact on students, alumni and fans, and there is incredible opportunity when we bring that passion together. We are excited to continue building our partnership with Athletics and to see the impact we can make together, For the Kids®.”
