A Message from Steve Massini

Stephen Massini, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Penn State Health, who will soon become the network’s chief executive officer, sent the following email to employees Friday:

“In the past week since the news of my pending appointment as the next CEO of Penn State Health, I’ve received many kind messages, calls and wishes of congratulations and support. Your thoughtfulness and kind words of support are humbling.  It also reinforces what I already knew – that we have an incredible team of individuals that truly care about Penn State Health and the College of Medicine and what we represent to the communities we serve.

I’ve tried to respond to each and every one of you but know that I may have missed someone. So let me say again here – thank you.

I’m proud to be part of this dynamic and growing health enterprise, and prouder still to call so many gifted and passionate people colleagues. When I visit any part of our organization, I am consistently reminded just how invested our people are in serving our patients well. You may directly provide that care or play a critical support role. You may train tomorrow’s providers or discover new preventions, treatments and cures. From State College to Berks and Lancaster, from Harrisburg and Hershey to the West Shore, together, you are what powers the potential of Penn State Health to improve the health of the communities we serve and provide outstanding care to our friends and neighbors across the region.

While we have a lot of important work to do in the months until I formally transition into my new role, I am excited to work alongside all of you as we guide Penn State Health to become even better, together.”
