Family and Community Medicine celebrates graduates

Penn State College of Medicine‘s Department of Family and Community Medicine recently recognized graduates and awardees at the College’s June commencement.

The 2017 commencement featured the inaugural set of graduates from the Family Medicine 3+3 Accelerated MD Program at Penn State, known as FM-APPS, which allows students to complete medical school in three years, followed by three years of family medicine residency.

The department also recognized the recipients of its sponsored awards:

  • Elizabeth Curry, MD: Dedication to Women’s Health Award
  • James Kent, MD: Thomas L. Leaman, MD, Award in Family and Community Medicine
  • Kaitlin Minnehan, MD: Award for Excellence in Research
  • Barrett Richard, MD: Humanism in Family Medicine Award
  • Adrian Wang, MD: Kantner Family Award
