Fredrick named chair of Doctors Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine

N. Benjamin Fredrick, MD, professor of family and community medicine, public health sciences and humanities, became chair of The Doctors Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine in November 2019.

The Kienle Center is an endowment that supports projects and initiatives that promote a humane, compassionate and patient-centered approach to health care. It is named in honor of the late Drs. Lawrence F. Kienle and Jane Witmer Kienle.

The center’s mission is supported by ambassadors from throughout Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, the College of Medicine and the community.

Dr. Fredrick, who is also the director of the Global Health Scholars program at the College of Medicine, has an interest in the health care of vulnerable populations.
