Harrell Health Sciences Library faculty and staff news: July 2021

Several Harrell Health Sciences Library team members have been involved in recent projects and events.

  • Kelly Thormodson, Alex Harrington, Esther Dell, Xiaoyu Sun, Robyn Reed, Eliza Donne, Brad Long, Amy Knehans and Ben Hoover’s poster “Adapting and Planning Novel Services During and After the COVID 19 Pandemic” was presented at the Medical Library Association Annual Meeting held virtually in May 2021.
  • Kelly Thormodson, Lori Cisney and Ben Hoover’s poster “Health System Growth and the Effects on Academic Libraries – A Pilot Study” was presented at the Medical Library Association Annual Meeting held virtually in May 2021.
  • Lori (Snyder) Cisney has been elected chair-elect of the Technical Services Caucus of the Medical Library Association. Her term will run from June 2021 to May 2022, at which time she will assume the role of chair for the caucus.
  • Lori (Snyder) Cisney has been accepted into the membership of The Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP). From the AHIP website, this is a “peer-reviewed accomplishment/portfolio-based certification and career development program for health information professionals.”
  • Bradley Long’s Librarian Reserve Corps seroepidemiology workgroup has received a thank you from Dr. Maria Van Kerhove, the WHO COVID-19 Technical Lead. WHO Europe will be publishing an internal newsletter article soon about the workgroup.
