In the CTSI Spotlight: Nicole Tarr

Nicole Tarr, Director of Collaborative Partnerships and Research Development

Nicole Tarr, who formerly worked in healthcare operations for a Federally Qualified Health Center, has worked with the Penn State CTSI for five months. Her focus is project management that develops the research workforce and builds and sustains relationships with external partners. In her work, Nicole is most proud of “being a connector between CTSI and our partners and moving relationships forward,” and enjoys CTSI’s “empowering leadership.”

What’s one thing — either professional or personal — you learned in the last month?

“That fiddleheads are baby fern fronds”

What’s the last book you read?

“Currently reading The Rose Code by Kate Quinn — highly recommend!”

What’s your favorite hobby?

“Bike riding.”

What’s on your bucket list?

“Visiting Italy where both of my great grandparents were from — adding it to my list of experiences this August and counting down the days!”

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

“Mediterranean cuisine — pretty much any meal!”

What’s one item you can’t live without?

“Books.”
