Ingraham recognized for Exceptional Moments in Teaching
Dr. John Ingraham, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon in plastic surgery at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, is the May recipient of Penn State College of Medicine's “Exceptional Moments in Teaching” honor.
Ingraham specializes and hand and wrist surgery and earned his MD from Penn State College of Medicine in 2003.
“Dr. John Ingraham is exceptional,” wrote a current student on the nomination. “He is thoughtful, kind and insightful. He truly believes in the importance of fostering humanistic physicians. It was a pleasure learning from such a confident surgeon who genuinely cares for his patients.”
Ingraham previously received the Great Humanities Small Group Facilitator Award in 2017, the Faculty Teacher Award in Plastic Surgery and the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2015, and the Teacher of the Year Award – Department of Surgery in 2014.
The College of Medicine's Office for a Respectful Learning Environment honors exceptional faculty members with the monthly “Exceptional Moments in Teaching” award program. College of Medicine students are invited to nominate a faculty member, resident, nurse or other educator who challenges them and provides an exceptional learning experience.
