Interim Dean Kevin Black: Continuing the journey toward racial justice

Dr. Kevin Black, interim dean of Penn State College of Medicine, sent the following email Aug. 12, 2020, to College of Medicine employees and students, Penn State employees who work at the College of Medicine and Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center employees:

“You may have seen this commentary that was published Monday on PennLive. It was written by two members of our college community and, while I hadn’t seen it before it was published, I appreciate the authors’ advocacy on behalf of our Black students and colleagues. The challenges we face are challenges that academic institutions and businesses across America are confronting right now. I submitted a follow-up commentary with additional information to PennLive, which has been published, and you can view it here.

“I am encouraged by our continuing dialogue to advance racial justice and look forward to sharing some of the outcomes from the town halls.”
