Harrell Health Sciences Library faculty and staff news: March 2020
Several Harrell Health Sciences Library team members have been involved in recent projects.
- Marie Cirelli attended the Critical Appraisal Institute for Librarians online from Jan. 23 to March 4, 2020. This course was developed by the New York Medical College Health Sciences Library.
- Esther Dell attended the NISO-Plus (National Information Standards Organization) Conference in Baltimore from Feb. 23 to 25, 2020.
- Amy Knehans co-authored “Prophylaxis to Prevent Venous Thromboembolism in Patients Undergoing Vascular Surgery Operations: A Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review,” which was accepted for publication by The Journal of Vascular Surgery. (Authors: Sandra Toth, MD; Tanya Flohr, MD; Jane Schubart, PhD2; Amy Knehans, MLIS; Camila Castello, MD; and Faisal Aziz, MD, DFSVS, FACS.)
- Brad Long has joined the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recently formed Librarian Reserve Corps (LRC). The LRC, which consists of medical librarians and public health professionals, will review COVID-19 literature in support of the mission of WHO.
