MD/PhD trainee featured on Engage podcast episode
A student in the MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program at Penn State College of Medicine was featured recently in an episode of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute‘s Engage podcast.The episode highlights Brianna Evans, a third-year MD/PhD student and a scholar in the institute’s Translational Research Training Program.
Evans is pursuing her PhD in biomedical sciences and currently works in Dr. Patricia “Sue” Grigson-Kennedy‘s lab examining imaging models in rat brains as part of addiction research. Evans will return to medical school after completing her PhD.
In addition to her training, Evans serves in a variety of leadership roles, including a diversity pipeline project that aims to help underrepresented students prepare for the MCATs, a requirement for medical school admission.
