June, 2012 DAISY Award presentation

Angie DePatto, R.N., in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, was recognized as the June DAISY Award winner. DePatto was nominated for the award by Lois Johnson of Mt. Joy, whose husband James recently was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot. “I believe it takes a special person to be a nurse and she is one of the very best that we have ever met,” Lois wrote in a letter to the Medical Center. “She was a blessing to our family and a true angel.” The DAISY Award, which recognizes nurses for providing skillful, compassionate care, is presented monthly.
