Crescent Drive in front of the Crescent building to be reduced to one lane for construction

Crescent Road on the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center campus — in front of the College and North entrances — will be restricted to one lane of traffic from Friday, June 23 to Monday, July 17.  The road will be restricted because of the installation of a crane near the North Lobby for use in the second floor expansion and third floor Women's Health construction project.

The North Lobby and Crescent Road will be closed while the crane is in use during the following dates and times:

  • 10 a.m. on Friday June 23 through 10 p.m. on Sunday June 25
  • 5 p.m. on Friday June 30 through 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 2
  • 5 p.m. on Friday July 7 through 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 9
  • 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday, July 10
  • 5 p.m. on Friday July 14 through 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 16
  • 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday, July 17

During these times, there will be no vehicle traffic in front of the College of Medicine or North entrances, and no pedestrian traffic to the North entrance. Employees parked in lots A, A-1, B, C, and D, and students traveling from the east housing area should use the College of Medicine entrance. Flaggers will direct traffic around the area.

  • The campus shuttle will not stop at College or North entrances on June 23, July 10, July 17 (after 10 a.m.) and will only stop at the main entrance.
  • All discharges, including Women's Health and the Heart and Vascular Institute will be moved to the main entrance.
  • All non-emergent ambulance transports will be re-routed through the Emergency Department parking lot. Parking in the Emergency Department/Cancer Institute lot will not be affected.

Fences and barricades will begin to be installed on Wednesday, June 21. All faculty, staff and students are asked to allow for enough time to travel around the construction areas and be mindful of the activities happening around them while in the area of the North Lobby.
