Pet therapy dogs ‘ruff it up' for their fans

An event at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center gave many people “paws.” Throughout Pet Therapy Awareness Day, several dogs and their owners were on-hand to greet people and help inform them about the role of the Medical Center's Pet Therapy Program.

The program began in 2005, and visits occur in nearly all adult units in the hospital every day of the week. Regular pet therapy visits also take place in Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. In all, 21 teams visit the hospital on a regular basis.
