Penn State Health enhances access to fertility services and pediatric specialties in York County

Penn State Health is making it easier for residents of York County and the surrounding area to access its reproductive endocrinology and fertility services and pediatric specialties with the opening of Penn State Health – Leader Heights. Leaders and staff gathered today to cut the ribbon on the new facility, which will begin serving patients on Oct. 31.

Penn State Health – Leader Heights will offer convenient access to the health system’s highly specialized services in coordination with Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. The 5,600-square-foot facility includes eight exam rooms and an initial team of 17 experienced care providers in addition to support staff.

Fertility services will include on-site consultations and diagnostics, andrology and monitoring and coordination of services provided at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, such as in-vitro retrievals, embryo transfers and embryo storage. Pediatric services include congenital heart and cardiology, gastroenterology, pre- and post-surgical consultations, rheumatology and pulmonology.

“This new outpatient location is another way we are honoring our promise to bring Penn State Health’s specialty care closer to where our patients and their families live and work,” said Deborah Addo, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Penn State Health, and interim president of Hershey Medical Center. “This facility will have a seamless connection to the expert teams at Hershey Medical Center and the Children’s Hospital to ensure coordination of specialized care.”

Penn State Health – Leader Heights helps fulfill a commitment made by Penn State Health and Highmark in 2017 to build a broader community care network to ensure patients and members in central Pennsylvania are close to needed primary care, specialty care and acute care hospital settings.
