Chen named director of Transmission Electron Microscopy facility
Dr. Han Chen started as director of the Penn State College of Medicine Transmission Electron Microscopy facility on Feb. 29, 2016, where he continues a long tradition of providing excellent sample preparation, image acquisition and instrument maintenance services.
After receiving his MD and PhD in China, Dr. Chen alternated between being a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and holding faculty positions at Sun Yat-sen University in China.
Most recently, Dr. Chen spent 10 years as a research Scientist in the Microscopy Core Facility at the Biotechnology Center at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where he specialized in electron microscopy.
An author of 55 publications, Dr. Chen brings both a strong research background and extensive expertise in electron microscopy to the College of Medicine.
