College of Medicine employee and student screening changes June 8

College of Medicine employee and student screening operations changed slightly starting today (June 8.) All College of Medicine employees are being asked to use the online check-in process and scan their ID badge each day before screening.

The online check-in process is a quick one-minute or less form to fill out prior to entry into the building. The form can be found here. Please also individually scan your ID badge for contact tracing efforts needed for our safe return. College of Medicine employees should make every effort to be screened during the hours of:

  • Biomedical Research Center: 6 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. weekends
  • College of Medicine main entrance: 6 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. weekends

All other external doors to the College of Medicine will remain inaccessible from outside and are for exit only. Do not hold those exterior doors open for anyone wanting to enter, as they would be circumventing the screening process for COVID symptoms and fever.

Starting Wednesday, June 10, clinical staff, medical students and residents in clinical rotation should report to their clinical work unit for screening.

Hershey Medical Center screening changes start June 10

Beginning Wednesday, June 10, screening locations for Hershey Medical Center employees will change. The new locations and hours are:

  • Hershey Medical Center North Entrance: 5 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Hershey Medical Center South Entrance: 5 a.m. –7:30 p.m.
  • Hershey Medical Center Main entrance: 5 a.m.–10 p.m.

Individuals are responsible for getting screened upon arrival. If they arrive when screening at their designated entrance is closed, they should immediately proceed to their work unit to be screened. Your supervisor will provide you with your work unit after-hours screening location. Employees whose work unit does not have an after-hours screening plan should proceed to the closest nursing unit.

Color-coded stickers will no longer be used to indicate that someone has passed a screening.

The Emergency Department entrance will remain open for patients and visitors to the ED only. All other doors will remain locked.
