Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology faculty, trainees attend Digestive Disease Week 2023

Faculty and trainees in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine were recognized and well represented again this year at Digestive Disease Week (DDW), the world’s premier scientific conference for gastroenterology and digestive disorders. This year’s conference was held in Chicago, Illinois, from May 6-9.

Dr. Stuart Goates poses with his research group’s poster, “A 12-year experience of using domperidone for the treatment of gastroparesis: Can we predict who is likely to benefit?,” at Digestive Disease Week.

In addition to a wide variety of outstanding poster presentations, the Division had multiple faculty and trainees presenting oral research presentations and/or overseeing clinical, research and/or educational sessions at the meeting. This included multiple invited research talks by members of the laboratories of Drs. Matthew Coates, Thomas Ma, Prashant Nighot and Iryna Pinchuk. This also included invitations to participate on the panels of several scientific or educational sessions, including by Drs. John Levenick, Jennifer Maranki, Matthew Moyer and Jonathan Stine. Dr. Stine also literally became one of the faces of the conference, as he was represented on a conference banner.

For a more complete idea of the DDW activities and recognitions that members of the Division were involved with, see the list below.
