Emergency Medicine names two new division chiefs

Dr. Francis Mencl, left, and Dr. Kathryn McCans, right, have been named chiefs of their respective divisions in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine.

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine has named two new division chiefs.

Francis Mencl, MD, professor of emergency medicine, is Life Lion division chief, and Kathryn McCans, MD, associate professor of emergency medicine and pediatrics, is pediatric emergency medicine division chief. McCans is an expert on the issue of child abuse as well as emergency medicine.
