Medical center and college honored for commitment to diversity

The logo for the Insight Into Diversity Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award for 2019 includes colored geometric shapes and the words Top Colleges for Diversity.Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine recently received the 2019 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from Insight Into Diversity magazine.

The honor recognizes medical educators across the United States and Canada for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. Institutions are selected based upon the recruitment and retention of students and employees – and best practices for both – as well as their programs, outreach and leadership support for diversity and inclusion.

The organization will be featured in the magazine’s December 2019 issue.
