Help support holiday Lion’s Share donation drive

The Association of Faculty and Friends (AFF) of Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine will launch its 2021 holiday Lion’s Share donation drive on Monday, Nov. 1.

Monetary and food donations raised between Nov. 1 and Friday, Dec. 31, will support the Lion’s Pantry and the Penn State Health Family and Community Medicine Food as Medicine Program at Beacon Clinic.

To help, employees can:

  • Donate online. The AFF’s partnership with the Central PA Food Bank enables the purchase of food at much lower prices than available at local grocery stores.
  • Send cash/checks or gift cards. Make checks out to “Penn State University” and write “AFF Lion’s Share” in the memo section. Or purchase gift cards from any local grocery store. Send to:
    • Penn State Health Office of Development
      P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033

Note: Please do not place cash or gift cards in food bins.

  • Donate specific food items:
    • Peanut butter, apple sauce/fruit cups, microwavable chili/soup bowls, healthy, nonperishable snacks, spices including cinnamon, red pepper and salt substitutes
    • Place donated food in bins located at the following Hershey campus entrances:
      • Hershey Medical Center
      • College of Medicine
      • Biomedical Research Building
      • Support Services Building
      • Academic Support Building
      • 175 Crystal A Drive

The Lion’s Pantry, located on the Hershey campus, provides essential food to Penn State Health employees and students. Family and Community Medicine faculty partner with medical students to provide food, medicine and health screenings and education to the Beacon Clinic’s clients.
