Human Resources offers Employee Wellness Resources to help manage through COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues to present us with unique challenges in the workplace and our personal lives, Human Resources shares some resources and strategies to support your overall wellness during these times. Thank you for your service to our organization now and always.

Reminder on Penn State Health Work Absences due to COVID-19

If you’re not feeling well, please don’t come to work. During this time of extra caution due to COVID-19, please feel secure in knowing that this unscheduled absence will not count per the Penn State Health attendance policy. In addition, absences due to lack of child care/elder care resources as a result of COVID-19 will not count per the Penn State Health attendance policy.

Key Resources

Penn State Health and College of Medicine employees can visit the PRO Wellness BeWell Employee Wellness Website for resources on mindfulness activities, healthy eating and exercise, all of which can be especially useful now.

Penn State Health employees and managers should visit mySolutions for information and guidance about Penn State Health employee benefits and wellness as well as COVID-specific resources. Simply search “wellness” or “Covid19” to find helpful information. Employees may also contact the HR Employee Solution center at hrsolutions@pennstatehealth.psu.edu.

For chaplain support, Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center employees can call 717-531-0003, x310508, or visit the Pastoral Services website.

Penn State Health employees may have concerns about their financial wellness given the current market volatility. Empower Retirement, Penn State Health’s retirement services provider, has helpful insight and guidance on their website. To speak to an Empower representative, call 717-531-1878.

For free COVID-19 screening and remote visits with a doctor for other acute health care needs (copays and charges apply for non-coronavirus consultations), employees can utilize Penn State Health OnDemand.

Finally, anyone who is having difficulties coping or has an immediate need for support is encouraged to use Penn State Health’s ComPsych Employee Assistance Program, a free, confidential employee and family resource that provides crisis support and short-term mental health services.
