MD/PhD program welcomes new cohort of first-year medical students
Penn State College of Medicine’s MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program welcomed nine new first-year medical students during the 29th annual White Coat Ceremony.
The ceremony was held July 19, 2024, to present all incoming medical students with their first white coats.
The new MD/PhD students are:
- Biyar Ahmed from Elizabethtown College
- Jennifer Ben Nathan from the University of Pennsylvania
- Mustapha El Zeini from the University of California – Berkeley
- Keith Griffith from Penn State
- Alexis Henderson from the University of Arizona
- Kendra Parker from Earlham College
- Travis Rathwell from Union College
- Pritha Saha from Johns Hopkins University
- Melissa Soliz from the University of Texas at San Antonio
The MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program is supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health and trains medical scientists interested in pursuing careers in biomedical research and academic medicine.
