N95 mask users asked to use self-storage process to conserve supplies

Penn State Health is facing a critical shortage of N95 masks, especially of the N95 small size 3M and small size Halyard (Duckbill) N95. All N95 mask users are required to implement the self-storage process to ensure we conserve supplies until further notice.

Please refer to this document for additional information and recommendations to ensure the safe storage and care of N95 masks. This guidance is based on recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

It is critically important to communicate with staff:

  • When N95 masks are required
  • How to store N95 masks safely
  • How to properly care for N95 masks when they are in use

Penn State Health is continuing to assess other N95 mask options. Watch the Daily Brief for updates.
