Scopus access available to Penn State

Penn State now has access to Scopus, a multidisciplinary abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed articles, books and chapters as well as conference proceedings. Data from more than 5,000 publishers populates the database with 70 million records. Scopus is available from the Harrell Health Sciences Library website under the “Databases” tab. When using Scopus, the blue “Get It at Penn State” button provides easy access to library-provided content.

Published research in Scopus can be analyzed using a variety of research metrics. Users can see the top authors, affiliations or journals that publish in particular subject area, as well as the funders who sponsored that research. Data can export to Excel or reference software tools (e.g. Endnote). Scopus users can learn more about the research being conducted by individual researchers through author profiles, and see citation counts and articles that cite the publication.

Scopus is currently paid for by the Office for the Vice President for Research. With questions on Scopus or assistance using the product, users can email the library at herref@pennstatehealth.psu.edu.
