College of Medicine leaders updated faculty, staff and students on Aug. 20 about the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Penn State College of Medicine welcomed 109 new graduate students during ceremonies on Aug. 17 and Aug. 18. The students will study anatomy, biomedical science, biostatistics, clinical research, epidemiology, laboratory animal medicine, neuroscience and public health.

Dr. Robert Zelis Sr. passed away Aug. 20, 2021. A faculty member at Hershey Medical Center and the College of Medicine for 40 years, Zelis retired in 2014.

Penn State Health has appointed Claire Mooney, a health care executive from eastern Pennsylvania, as senior vice president and chief operating officer with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Lancaster Medical Center.
Penn State’s Center for Biodevices Seed Grant Program will provide teams with funds for Fundamental Research or Applied Research focused on biodevices to improve human and/or animal health such as implantable, surgical, wearable, sensing/diagnostic and imaging devices.
