THRIVE for Life Foundation donates $50,000 to Cancer Assistance and Resource Education Center at Penn State Cancer Institute

The THRIVE for Life Foundation presented a $50,000 check to the Cancer Assistance and Resource Education (CARE) Center at Penn State Cancer Institute on Nov. 28 in support of personalized, comprehensive cancer care services for patients. The foundation raised the funds through its signature events, such as Cooking for Cancer at The Englewood held in Hershey in June.

“We are so grateful for the tangible and meaningful impact our partnership with the THRIVE for Life Foundation makes in enhancing the lives of adult patients fighting cancer,” said Don McKenna, interim president of Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. “The foundation’s generous support helps fund supportive cancer care services for patients through the CARE Center to help reduce stress, manage side effects and enhance recovery.”

Founded in 2019, the THRIVE for Life Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to raising philanthropic support for the CARE Center and its comprehensive, whole-person services and programs for adults diagnosed with cancer.

“Philanthropic support is such vital lifeblood for the CARE Center, making meaningful programs possible for those being treated for cancer and their loved ones – programs that otherwise simply would not exist,” said Michael Hayes, board president of the THRIVE for Life Foundation. “The foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the community of event sponsors and donors who sustain our events. Through our collective engagement, the CARE Center will continue to instill hope and enrich the lives of adults with cancer.”
