College of Medicine leaders updated faculty, staff and students on Sept. 18 about the College of Medicine’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Penn State College of Medicine research team will continue to work on developing a vaccine for COVID-19 using more than $400,000 in funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The goal is to create a vaccine that can provide long-term, protective immunity.
Kassie Heeman knows she carries a lot of weight on her shoulders. “If I don’t see something, then the doctors don’t see it – and that’s a big deal,” said the Paxtonia resident who is a sonographer at Hershey Medical Center.
