College of Medicine welcomes largest alumni group ever for annual celebration

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations welcomed 165 alumni -including graduate, physician assistant, resident and medical alumni – back to Hershey for Alumni Weekend on Sept. 21 and 22. It was the largest crowd ever for the annual gathering and celebration.

Guests enjoyed socializing with classmates, fellow alumni, faculty and students at their choice of more than 25 events throughout the weekend, ranging from diversity and scholarship receptions to a foraging walk in the woods and tours of the Life Lion hangar and campus.

Dr. Ninad Pendharkar, MD ’07, was named the new Alumni Society board president at the Friday evening dinner. Dr. David Han, professor of surgery, radiology and engineering design and vice chair for educational affairs, Department of Surgery, also received the Cheston M. Berlin Service Award, which recognizes meritorious service to the College of Medicine Alumni Society and its members.

The signature celebration at the Hotel Hershey on Saturday night featured eight medical class reunion dinners, in addition to other medical and physician assistant alumni gatherings. Alumni danced the night away and enjoyed chocolate desserts to cap off the fun-filled weekend.
