CultureVision helps frontline health care workers provide culturally appropriate patient care
Penn State Health serves a growing number of patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, and understanding their particular needs is critical. The more we know about someone’s health care beliefs or practices, the more effective our care and treatment plans can be.
CultureVision is a comprehensive, user-friendly database that provides instant access to information on what people of various ethnicities and religions believe about health care, disease prevention, gender roles and other topics. It can help Penn State Health employees develop knowledge, awareness and skills in cross-cultural communication ― vital tools on the path toward culturally competent patient care.
Through CultureVision, employees have access to videos, FAQs, newsletters, tools, guides and a growing and searchable database of cultural competencies.
