Article highlights College of Medicine’s health systems science curriculum

A recent article in the Fort Wayne, Indiana, Journal Gazette focused on American Medical Association-spurred changes in what – and how – future doctors are taught.

Penn State College of Medicine is part of the AMA effort, which expanded to 32 medical schools in October. Indiana University’s School of Medicine was, with Penn State, one of the original 12 participants in the program. The article focuses on Indiana University’s efforts in health systems science and highlights the patient navigator program used by Penn State medical students as an example of a successful change in medical education.
