Gala Postponed

Penn State College of Medicine’s Multicultural Awareness Club’s annual gala, originally scheduled for Jan. 19, was postponed because of snow. The event has been rescheduled for the following date:

  • Get tickets

Lord Named Senior Vice President for Community Hospital Development

Todd Lord has been named senior vice president for community hospital development at Penn State Health. Lord served the network as a consultant during the past year, leading the development of the proposed Hampden Medical Center in Cumberland County. He brings more than three decades of experience in health care operations and business development to Penn State Health as he focuses on new strategic partnerships with physician groups and community practices.

Brian Patchcoski, director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Ally Resource Center at Penn State, will conduct a training session to provide a greater understanding of transgender issues, introducing terminology, care consideration, culture and misconceptions:

Fuddruckers Raise Funds

Three local Fuddruckers restaurants will donate 20 percent of participating patrons’ Monday through Friday lunch or dinner bills to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center:

Spinal Stimulation Show

Two Penn State Health physicians will be featured on abc27’s Good Day PA. Dr. Michael Sather, a neurosurgeon, and Dr. Vitaly Gordin of anesthesia/pain management will discuss spinal stimulation and how pain can be managed without reliance on heavy doses of painkillers:

Schetter Memorial Service

A memorial service for Dr. Susann Schetter is scheduled:

  • Thursday, Jan. 31

Schetter died on Dec. 24 after a 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer. During Dr. Schetter’s 14 years with Penn State Health and College of Medicine, she served as associate professor of radiology, associate chief medical officer for Penn State Health Medical Group and division chief of the Penn State Health Breast Center.
