Outlook on the Move

Information Services will discuss the Outlook on the Move initiative that is migrating employees’ Outlook mailboxes to a more stable and secure platform:

Outlook on the Move is near completion at Penn State Health’s Reading and Lancaster locations. In mid-to-late July, Information Services will begin the migrations at Hershey locations. Visit the project website for more information.

Blizzard for a Good Cause

Penn State Health Children’s Hospital will sell Blizzard sundaes in the Treehouse Café:

  • Wednesday, July 24
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • $5 per sundae while supplies last

Proceeds benefit the Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network.

United Way Day of Caring

Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine employees, faculty and students are invited to help with community projects around the area on the United Way Day of Caring. The deadline to sign up is Friday, July 26. The event is:

Employees must get their supervisor’s approval before signing up. They will receive a paid day off to participate in the Day of Caring and will not need to use vacation or PTO. Only employees and students may volunteer ― no spouses or children. More details are available here.

Cholesterol Storage Talk

Nancy Lil, assistant professor of Pharmacology at Penn State College of Medicine, will give a talk entitled, “Schweinfurthin Analogs: Cholesterol Storage and Distribution Regulate Their Selective Anticancer Activity”:

Book Donations

Penn State Health is collecting gently used books for a book sale to benefit the United Way. Books may be dropped off until Thursday, Aug. 8 at three different locations:

  • Crystal A, Room 2320
  • Harrell Library ― south entrance
  • Biomedical Research Building, C3804

The book sale will take place:

  • Aug. 12-13
  • 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Dining Rooms A and B

Operations

University Fitness Center, University Conference Center Parking Change

Work crews at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center will repave the entrance to the University Conference Center/University Fitness Center parking lot today and Friday, July 12. Access the lot through the gate to Lot A-1, located nearby on Campus Drive. The gate to Lot A-1 will remain open to allow access to the lot.
