Nominations for Hershey’s Physician of the Month open Dec. 1

Hershey Medical Center is launching a Physician of the Month award program to recognize those who demonstrate outstanding performance, respect, integrity, team work and excellence in all their interactions with patients, families and colleagues.

Medical Center employees and faculty may nominate physicians, including residents, on the PAWS UP! page, beginning Wednesday, Dec. 1. To complete the online form, nominators must share a brief synopsis about why their candidate merits recognition based on Penn State Health’s RITE Values. A committee of physician leaders will review nominations each month and select a winner.

“This award is a critical addition to our employee recognitions,” said Dr. Sarah Iriana, the Medical Center’s senior vice president and chief medical officer. “We have many outstanding physicians who deserve to be honored for their clinical contributions, teamwork and exemplary approach to patient- and family-centered care.”

The Penn State College of Medicine’s Office for a Respectful Learning Environment also recognizes physician and resident educators through the Exceptional Moments in Teaching award.
