Organizational performance bonus announced for eligible Penn State Health and College of Medicine employees

Eligible employees at Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine will receive an organizational performance bonus for fiscal year 2021. The bonus will be awarded to Penn State Health employees on Friday, Oct. 22. College of Medicine employees who are paid biweekly will receive their bonuses on Oct. 22, while those who are paid monthly will receive theirs on Friday, Oct. 29.

For Penn State Health employees, this year’s bonus is based on meeting the health system’s organizational goals for fiscal year 2021, which focused on quality and safety, patient experience, employee experience and Penn State Health’s financial performance.

“It has been a challenging year, and we should be proud of all that we have accomplished,” said Steve Massini, chief executive officer of Penn State Health, in a memo to staff Sept. 22. “Overall, we had a very good year and met the majority of our goals, despite a pandemic and amid all the growth and change taking place within Penn State Health.”

Penn State Health employees can review the program in mySolutions and see if they are eligible for the bonus.

Each year, the Penn State Health Board of Directors establishes specific quality and financial goals for the system as a whole and for its clinical entities. The Penn State Health organizational performance bonus payment is separate from any merit increases individual employees may receive as a result of the annual performance appraisal process. Information about Penn State Health merit increases will be forthcoming.
